Lourdes Carvajal, MSW, LCSW, McHenry location

I am a licensed social worker specializing in the treatment of anxiety, depression, and trauma across the lifespan. I work with children, adolescents, and adults, and have extensive experience supporting emerging adults as they navigate identity development, life transitions, academic and career stress, and relationship challenges. For the past seven years, I have focused much of my clinical work on the emerging adult population, helping clients build resilience, clarity, and confidence during this pivotal stage of life.

My approach is integrative and tailored to each client’s unique needs. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Gottman Method Couples Therapy. I draw from these evidence-based modalities to help clients better understand their thoughts and emotions, develop practical coping skills, heal from past wounds, and strengthen their relationships.

I earned my Master of Social Work from Aurora University in 2019. My clinical style is warm, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that meaningful change happens within a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship. Whether you are struggling with overwhelming anxiety, persistent low mood, the impact of trauma, or relationship concerns, I strive to create a space where you feel heard, supported, and empowered to grow.
