Sandra Urbina, MSW, LSW

Sandra is passionate about working with young children, young adults, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. As a Spanish-speaking clinician, she is also passionate about providing culturally responsive and accessible support to Spanish-speaking clients and families. Sandra strives to create a warm, welcoming, and affirming environment where every client feels accepted, supported, and comfortable being their authentic self.

When working with children, Sandra enjoys incorporating play therapy techniques to provide a safe and creative space for them to express their emotions, build confidence, strengthen communication skills, and develop healthy ways of coping with life’s challenges. She also incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) into her work, helping clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors while developing practical skills they can use in their everyday lives.

Sandra values meeting each client where they are and tailoring the therapeutic experience to their individual needs, strengths, identities, and goals. She believes that building a trusting and supportive therapeutic relationship is an important foundation for meaningful growth and positive change.

Outside of the therapy room, Sandra enjoys spending time with her husband, family, and dogs. Her nephew and nieces are her world, and she loves making special memories with them. She is also a big coffee lover and is always happy to enjoy a good cup of coffee!
