Jillian Palmer, MA, in training for LCPC, Crystal Lake location

Jillian is a compassionate counselor who is passionate about creating a space where adults feel genuinely seen, heard, and supported as they navigate the many seasons of life. She received her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology with a specialization in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Concordia University Chicago. Jillian has a particular clinical interest in women’s mental health, including perinatal and postpartum mental health, the transition to motherhood, reproductive experiences, identity, relationships, grief and loss, and the many changes that can occur throughout adulthood. She recognizes that even some of life’s most meaningful seasons can bring complicated and unexpected emotions and believes there is value in having a space where all of those experiences can exist.

Jillian’s approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and individualized to each client. She primarily draws from Person-Centered Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Jillian believes clients are the experts of their own experiences and approaches therapy with curiosity, authenticity, and compassion. She works alongside clients to explore the experiences and stories that have shaped them, deepen their understanding of themselves, identify what matters most to them, and move toward meaningful change that feels aligned with their values.

Jillian works with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationship concerns, self-esteem challenges, identity development, and major life transitions. She is especially passionate about supporting women through the unique and often complex experiences that accompany different seasons of life. Above all, Jillian strives to build a therapeutic relationship where clients feel safe showing up as their full selves and supported as they recognize their strengths, navigate change, and create lives that feel meaningful and authentic to them.
