Cheyenne Hickman, BA, Doctoral-Level Intern

I’m currently working toward my Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) at the Illinois School of Professional Psychology at National Louis University after earning my B.A. in Psychology from Arizona State University. Over the course of my training and clinical experience, I’ve had the opportunity to work with children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of settings. As a Psychiatric Technician in a child & adolescent partial hospitalization program and a Behavioral Health Counselor in an adult residential program, I’ve supported individuals with a wide range of backgrounds and mental health concerns. I value helping each person feel understood for who they are, not just the challenges they face. I truly believe every person’s story is unique and deserves to be met with curiosity, not judgment.

I don’t see my role as having all the answers. Instead, I hope to be someone who helps you make sense of your story, recognize your strengths, and move forward in a way that feels true to you.

I want to create a space where you can show up exactly as you are, without feeling like you have to have the right words or everything figured out. To me, therapy is about helping you reconnect with the person you’ve always been beneath everything you’ve had to carry.

In my free time, you can usually find me spending time with my dogs, Waffle and Donut, experimenting with a new recipe, or getting lost in a jigsaw puzzle. I love slowing down, being creative, and embracing a good challenge.
