Hi, my name is Carstly Almonor, and I am a 3rd year doctoral practicum student in Clinical Psychology at the Illinois School of Professional Psychology (ISPP) at National Louis University. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Family and Child Sciences from Florida State University, a Master of Science in Early Childhood Development and Education from the University of Central Florida, and a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from National Louis University.
My professional experience includes working as a psychiatric technician in an inpatient hospital setting and as a Mental Health Designee within Orange County Public Schools, where I supported middle school students’ social, emotional, and behavioral well-being.
I also completed clinical training at DePaul University Counseling & Psychological Services, where I conducted psychological assessments, clinical interviews, integrated psychological reports, and diagnostic feedback under the supervision of licensed psychologists.
I work with children, adolescents, and adults from diverse backgrounds and strive to create a welcoming, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, respected, and understood. I believe in building a strong therapeutic relationship that fosters trust, collaboration, and meaningful growth.
My therapeutic approach is collaborative, culturally responsive, and grounded in evidence-based practices. I enjoy helping clients build insight, strengthen coping skills, and navigate life’s challenges while recognizing and building upon their unique strengths. My goal is to create a safe and supportive space where clients feel empowered to work toward meaningful and lasting change.
